Cocktails and Boredom

Digital photography is pretty amazing. I enjoy being a member of the club but there is a part of me that feels like a cheat. Anything can be fixed, and because of this real concentration can be absent while snapping away... At least this is true for the novice.

Zach and I celebrated our Third Anniversary yesterday. We failed to get a picture of our smiling faces, but i was able to capture a fun pic of our feet. Queer i know...

Why is this senseless little camera feature so amusing to a 32 year old? Not sure, but it makes me chuckle every time.

Old Trucks

Well, I know i have mentioned in the past that technology and I do not associate with one another, but I bought a new camera and I am amazed by all the things it can do! Below are some of the first pics taken with the new cam. Get used to it, i feel an obsession coming on...

nothin beats an old truck
i love the color in this photo
all these cars belong to daryl wooley, he caught me admiring his old junkers so i was fortunate enough to talk with the old timer. born and raised in basalt!

Country Jam USA '09

Country Jam has been a personal tradition of mine for 15 plus years. Lord only knows the things i have witnessed and been a part of during those four grueling days. I'd like to include a typical day in the life of a country jammer:
1. wake up at the crack of dawn
2. bloody mary time
3. a cig for good measure
4. eggs and meat of some sort
5. this is when the heavy drinking begins
6. pack up for a day at the lake (washers, beer frisbee, grillin, booze, more cigs and the occasional dip to reorient oneself)
7. back to camp for an appetizer, a filthy amount of booze, and off to the shows
8. return to camp eat, sing, dance, drink repeat

p.s i met my husband at Country Jam.

July 4th 2009

There is nothing like a small town on the 4th of July...

About three weeks ago i was laying in bed and i was enveloped by an image that had to become a reality. I saw a corral of stick ponies, a rodeo queen, real horses, a grill with hundreds of weenies being cooked, and three rednecks driving John Deere mowers... with a little elbow grease, this dream became tangible. It also proved to be a judge favorite and won Kemo Sabe the Best Animal category in the 4th of July parade. The weenies being propelled into the crowd threw us over the edge, im sure of it...

Puppy Girls

I have come to the conclusion the i may be that peculiar person who loves their dogs too much. Now don't get me wrong, i still treat them like dogs. They don't go to doggie spas, wear ludicrous outfits, get new collars every week, or exist on an entirely raw food diet... they live regular old dog lives.
On to the introductions. Moose is a complex dog and has so many human traits she is supernatural. My mom is pretty sure that a spirit she used to know is housed inside Moose. I have walked in on her numerous times asking Moose to speak to her and I'm absolutely sure she believes that one day she will. Moose is my best animal friend, we had a talk recently and she agreed to live forever. Ledoux is our newest addition and i suppose she is technically Zach's dog although I am definitely her mother. Ledoux is a bird dog and has enough energy to keep the Earth spinning on its axis. I was worried about her for the first few years (what had we signed up for??) and now that shes over two she has turned into an impeccable dog. She is a great huntress and when she is doing her "thing" she is unstoppable. Luckily when she's at home Moose has revealed to Ledoux how to be a mellow Poodle rather than a maniacal bird dog.

Ledoux... i love this pic, she reminds me of a star wars dog if there were such a thing
