Puppy Girls

I have come to the conclusion the i may be that peculiar person who loves their dogs too much. Now don't get me wrong, i still treat them like dogs. They don't go to doggie spas, wear ludicrous outfits, get new collars every week, or exist on an entirely raw food diet... they live regular old dog lives.
On to the introductions. Moose is a complex dog and has so many human traits she is supernatural. My mom is pretty sure that a spirit she used to know is housed inside Moose. I have walked in on her numerous times asking Moose to speak to her and I'm absolutely sure she believes that one day she will. Moose is my best animal friend, we had a talk recently and she agreed to live forever. Ledoux is our newest addition and i suppose she is technically Zach's dog although I am definitely her mother. Ledoux is a bird dog and has enough energy to keep the Earth spinning on its axis. I was worried about her for the first few years (what had we signed up for??) and now that shes over two she has turned into an impeccable dog. She is a great huntress and when she is doing her "thing" she is unstoppable. Luckily when she's at home Moose has revealed to Ledoux how to be a mellow Poodle rather than a maniacal bird dog.

She said yes at Indian Creek

Now, you guys will have to bear with me. I did not think this whole blog thing through when I started so the first few entries are not in chronological order, obviously. So here we go... Zach and I never talked about getting engaged, we never went ring shopping or anything like that. In fact, I don't think we ever uttered a peep to one another about "I DO".
With that said...
Utah is one of my most hallowed places on earth. The landscape is so noble and for one reason or another it really speaks to me. I wasn't at all surprised when Zach said we were going to the Canyon Lands area for my birthday... however I did find it considerably atypical that he TOLD me were going rather than asking if id like to go. One thing I love about our relationship is that I know Zach so well he can NEVER surprise me, obviously this drives him bonkers and makes him loathe me. At any rate I knew something was up. Indian Creek is just one of the umpteen phenomenal places in Utah. We found an unreal little nook and it called home. Again the two of us shared the tent along with our three great puppies. We went on a killer hike through Indian Creek canyon and found a wondrous table top to scale up and have lunch. There was a titanic storm brewing, and it was incredible being able to watch it travel towards us from miles away. I suggested we take another route down to the river bed since it would be faster. Zach said absolutely not, that we had to go back the way we came because the alternate route I had suggested was to dangerous for the dogs... weird... thats when I started to become VERY suspicious. As we passed the large natural amphitheater for the second time that day, I remember that I was telling Zach a foolish story. Moments later I was being interrupted by Zach as he chastised me for being the most unperceptive person in the history of the world. After my talking to, i started scanning the area around us and low and behold there it was. A white shiny box placed on a rock with a big sparkley bow. This is when my heart began to pulse in my ears and I lost track of time as we know it. Zach got down on one knee, said a myriad of overwhelming things and asked me one big question to which i replied yes... And that's it in a nutshell.

obviously this picture was staged after the fact

moose is extremely interested in whats going on

Ambergris Caye

I would have to say that Belize is the best island trip we have taken to date. One might find this strange since our Honeymoon was a tropical getaway, but we quickly found out that Cabo San Lucas second and more appropriate name is Cabo San Aspen. Enough said... Any who back to Ambergris. The food was out of this world amazing and the local culture and spirit is still very much alive. I would highly suggest a trip to Ambergris.

Teeny tiny plane from Belize City to Ambergris Caye

Our favorite floating dock, I'm sure I broke some sort of Olympic record swimming to it... my fear of sharks acted as an amazing propeller

Fido's Restaurant. Great reggae to sooth the soul

Tourist motivated past times at the expensive of old mister rooster

This was a great trip. Sailing, snorkeling in shark alley (yes, i did it and survived), trip to Caye Caulker and a sunset sail home

Lobster shack

Zach fly fishing the flats for bone fish and tarpon. I caught a Barracuda and a bull shark snagged it from my line about two feet from the boat. Amazing!

Lost Man Lake

We Learn by doing....
Although this 9 mile trail is traveled by a superabundance of people, Zach and I decided to brave the storm and camp at the magnificent Lost Man Lake. I reckon God was smiling down upon us because other that the 15 tourists that decided to tackle the lengthy hike to the first lake (which is approximately 300 yards from the trail head), we were fortunate enough to see only a handful of people along the way, and had the lake all to ourselves that evening. Unfortunately mother nature had a plan of her own... Zach and I found ourselves in the tent for 12 hours while she unleashed her fury. Now typically one would assume that 12 hours in a tent, with your husband, in the middle of the woods, during a killer thunderstorm would be great right?? Well yes of course but we were ill prepared and had the pleasure of sharing our small, two person tent, with 3 mud caked mutts. Fortunately the scenery, thunderstorm, elephantine rock slide, time together and getting to be a part of the great place we live made up for the extended stint in the tent. Enjoy the pictures

I know with all my heart and soul that there is a village of creepy gnomes living in this forest

Technology

apparently i was defunct for the majority of my technology "education" because... mi no comprenede how to set up this silly little blog site. i understand email, texting and the internet but beyond those three little things i am pretty much clueless. the truth is I pride myself for NOT subscribing to the evil tech world but it does afford me quite a bit of irritation when setting out on new tech journey. this program was probably invented by a 12 year old snot nose kid and here i am writing away having no idea if this text will actually appear on my new blog. with that said i am going to press the orange, PUBLISH POST button, and hope for the best.
